Lit: A Parallel Word
The word lit was made to express a feeling. People use to it to express how much fun, or excitement they will experience. Lit is a slang word. Over the years many new words have been brought up. Lit can be used as describing the excitement, getting high, or how it really sounds lit. This is a word individuals hear with teen adults to describe an event or someone’s excitement. Lit is a way of explaining events that happen in your life. Lit has the pros of using the word but also the cons like when using when doing drugs describe how the drug is making you feel.
First, the word lit can be described as being extremely excited for something. Teens use this word to express how excited they are. For example, most teens use “I’m so lit up about tonight’s party.” meaning they are very excited about the party. Often lit is used my teenage kids trying to be cool with other individuals. Lit can also be described as excellency meaning someone did a lit job. Many individuals use this slang word to express a feeling of being cool. Everyone has a different way of using the word lit in the way of expressing how they feeling towards one another. For example, people most often say “I feel so lit

People often use it as “getting lit” which means getting high or on something. For example, if an individual was caught smoking the first thing people would say would be “You lit yet?” because the root word of lit is light up meaning to light up the drug to light you up. Lit is more likely to be used when people are doing drugs because being lit shows that the individual is high. The con of this word is when individuals use it to express how they feel when they are doing drugs because this is when they use the word lit to say how they are lit up by the drug like very high on it.
