Analysis Paper on The Blind Side Have you ever helped someone out and had your actions misread by the people around you? In the movie The Blind Side, based on author Michael Lewis’ book, The Blind Side: Evolution Of A Game, Leigh Anne Tuohy takes in a homeless African American teen named Michael Oher. With Leigh Anne and her family’s help Michael turns out to be an unbelievable All American football player and first round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in the 2009 NFL draft. Many people may argue that she might have taken Michael in to feel better about herself, or because she was seeking some kind of fame, and maybe even because she saw his size and race and saw another opportunity to make herself richer by getting him as far in a sport as she could. Truth is, Leigh Anne didn’t offer her home love and support for any of these things, she simply did it because it was her motherly instinct to take a child in need in. Leigh Anne Tuohy is an incredible woman who goes out of her way to make someone who is in need, have a better life. Leigh Anne first encounters Michael Oher on a rainy, freezing cold night, pities his situation and offers him a place to sleep for the night. That one simple act of kindness is not seen too often, in any place, now a days. Leigh Anne and her family were well off in a wealthy residential area, she was a successful interior decorator and her husband, Sean Tuohy, was the owner of a restaurant franchise. A person who is under these circumstances doesn’t need much to feel better about themselves; she has a great family, a beautiful home, and a successful career. Reality of it is people will judge simply because they feel threatened when others are doing something good, even more so when it’s out of the kindness of their heart. It was Leigh Anne's motherly instinct to offer Michael a place to stay, not a selfish act. Arguing that she took Michael in to her home to look good or for some kind of
