Literary Devices In The Dead By James Byce

In "The Dead" by James Byce, the main character is showing his feelings through imagery, time, and symbolism.
In the first device was time, Gabriel uses these device to express his feelings throughout his life time. He uses these phrases, "happen very soon", played in the life", and "no longer beautiful." He expresses with the phrases that the time passed through out his lifetime. The second device is symbolism and these are the following phrases that Gabriel used. "Boot stood up", "dressed in black", and finally, "blinds would be drawn down." Gabriel express everything in other objects only because he does not want to mention any names. And how the things are between them.
And for last element he uses in the story is imagery. "His soul",
