Abstract The main focus on this literature review paper is going to be over “Do you agree with the death penalty?”. I gathered information by asking a series of questions of other individuals. Some of the questions I asked was, “Do you think the death penalty is a deterrent from a crime?”, and “How should the death penalty be administered?” My goal is to find out how many people agree or disagree with the death penalty, and why. This will be a good opportunity to view this topic from many different aspects, considering each person will have their own reasons and their beliefs. This is a good qualitative question because I’m gather people’s opinions on a topic that has a lot of mixed emotions. I will be able to come up with a percentage based on how many people agree or disagree and the reasons why. There are no known ethical or discriminating concerns on this topic.
Introduction For the research gathered, the only requirement is that the participants must be 18 years of age or older. The reason being is that I believe at this age, they can comprehend and understand capital punishment. Any person 18 or older can participate in the survey if he or she wishes. The questionnaire will provide information and statics on whether or not people agree with capital punishment, and why or why not. The questionnaire will also ask what participants consider to be a crime punishable by death, how it should be administered, and who should be allowed to be in the room while the death penalty is carried out. I believe these types of questions can be very useful, and the information gathered by this questionnaire can possibly change how capital punishment is dealt with in the future.
