Henry focker: no, thank you
Greg focker: you know, you mother worked very hard making that lasagna for you
Henry focker: no. it tastes funny
Greg focker: henry, I’am your father and I’m requesting of you to eat the lasagna.
Henry focker: fine.
In the above quote, this conversation between father and son was influence due to the conversation he has with his father in law about been the Byrnes patriarch and leading the family through good and bad times. The requirement is an attitude, confidence of how he carries himself, a secure home for the family and a top notch education for his children. the attitude was first executed when he forced the son to eat the food he was nauseated about. He didn’t find out why but mandated him and this made henry focker to vomit. For example, “the rocket ship thing” Charlie thought carrying his son and making funny sounds was enough attention he gives to his son. This act was pointed out to him by his friend Phil (business partner) that his son allows it because Charlie himself likes to do the act. It was observed that from the beginning of the film to the point of realization about the ship rocket, the rocket ship thing was an important to technique for Charlie to excuse himself. This also applies to Richard in film 2, who thought the daughter could not compete in the beauty contest due to the conservative nature of the daughter. The masculinity of involved father needs points to the acceptance of gendered cultural understandings of caregiving (Wall and Arnold
