When I compared the two short stories, “Raymond’s Run” and “The Three Little Pigs”, I found many similarities in their themes. I believe the theme of both short stories was don’t underestimate anyone. In “The Three Little Pigs”, the wolf underestimates the three little pigs and their houses. The characters don’t appreciate the quality of the brick house and evaluate his house to be the same as his brother’s houses. On the other hand, in “Raymond’s Run”, Hazel (the protagonist), underestimates everyone around her, especially her competitors.…

Macbeth, the play by William Shakespeare and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck both share the theme that tough decisions have to be made by humans. In Macbeth, Macbeth had to make the decision whether to kill King Duncan or not in order to become king and gain more power. One way that they are alike is that it tells how they became enemies, for example the Rat pushes the Cat selfishly into the river, and in the story he eats the boat and Cat thinks that Rat was trying to kill him and he tries to kill Rat. Another way they are alike is in both the legend and the story they are crossing a river, and in the story the Rat eats the boat that they were crossing the river in and in the legend the Rat pushes Cat off of the Ox while crossing the river.Lastly in both Cat gets mad at Rat and tries to hurt him, like when the Cat and Rat cross the river and Rat eats the boat and Cat gets mad and tries to kill him or when they are crossing the river and the Rat pushes him off Ox’s back and Cat gets mad and tries to kill him. These reasons are why I think that the two stories about Cat and Rat are more…

Now I personally don’t know what a conversation between my friend and I would be like while we’re waiting to purchase and do drugs, but I do have an idea of what a conversation would be like when we’re together for more than five minutes. There are times when a normal conversation takes a turn for the worst and ends up being strange and you find yourself wondering “How the hell did we end up here?” A funny film where we see two friends having a conversation, Thomas Simon’s Wolf & Short film is both eyebrow raising, and hilarious.…

The author of “Lon Po Po” states “When the wolf reached out, he could almost touch the highest branch. But at that moment, shang coughed, and they let go of the rope, and the basket fell down and down and down. Not only did the wolf bump his head, but he broke his heart to pieces.” This passage from “Lon Po Po” shows that the wolf dies in the children’s hands. The author of “Red Riding Hood” writes, and he gobbled her right up “Having enjoyed such a heavy meal he was soon snoring away. A hunter passing by was alarmed by the frightful racket. “That doesn't sound like granny,” he said. And so the brave hunter jumped in the window killed the sleeping wolf.” this excerpt shows that The wolf died in the hunter’s hands instead of in the children’s hands. It is clear that there are many differences between the two short stories “Lon Po Po”, and “Little Red Riding…

Is it possible to be good and evil at the same time? Lord of the Flies by William Golding investigates the quick deterioration of good in human society without structure. Within the novel, the character Piggy demonstrates good and evil and how the evil actions of others affects good and how even good can have an evil streak. To begin, Ralph comes back from Jack’s tribe’s feast to find Piggy and some littluns the “only one[s] left” (155) in Ralph’s group. This represents the good side of Piggy, as Piggy is the only child that understands what is going on, and yet is still loyal to Ralph. Piggy symbolizes trust and enthusiasm throughout the novel, and is a significant advisor to Ralph, even after being wronged through most of the story. Lastly,…
