The musical overall had good special effects. The screens that pulled down were a very good idea. This showed how the characters saw the future with significant others and created a sense of how the character, Audrey saw her life. The lighting also reflected the tone of the musical. The lighting was a little darker throughout the musical and played it off a happy and bright town to a dark and scary town towards the end, but also reflecting the rock bottom the town is. The blocking of the characters showed how they felt in a situation. An example is when Audrey was standoffish and was closed off from the dentist. The way they would naturally do things, like walking. Audrey’s walk was like a little bounce trot, which showed she was high maintenance, as for Seymour’s walk was slower and slouching, which showed he was more laid back. The dancing of the characters showed how they played off the town as a happy and bright place to live. They were happy in the beginning dance scene and then as they went on it was darker. The positions and the groups of the characters showed their personality and the town's character. The three girls who hung around the dumps that showed they were kind of bad and that the town was run down. The movement and interaction with the town from the people showed a lot about them as characters and the town's characteristics.
