London is the capital city of England. It is located on the banks of the River Thames and it has been a major settlement for two millennia.
London is the best city in Europe and it is a leading global city in the world with big, tall buildings, shops, historic landmarks like the Palace of Westminster, Natural History Museum, Kew Gardens, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, National Galleries, libraries, Theatres. It also has one of the oldest network rails in the world.
I like living in London, because of the incredible diversity that London provides. In London, there are lots of people from different cultures, societies and backgrounds, which pleased me when I first came to live in London ten years ago. The other thing I like about living in London is its beautiful gardens and great parks, which are all over London and all of them are well looked after.
People in London are also very polite, well-mannered and helpful. They are also very welcoming, compared to my country where some people are not very polite or helpful. In some cases, some people only think about ripping people off and stealing from them, because some of these people involved in this type of behaviour always think that people from abroad are always rich.
Living conditions and the economic situation are far better for me in London rather than my country. In London I have choices to develop even though I am not rich. I have the opportunity to work and get paid. I can be educated. London is like a mother figure to me because it looks after me by providing me with a better life than I have been used to in my country. In London I have a better life, a job, a nice house with running water and electricity. I can get help from the government if I lose my job and I can also get free medical help. No matter what your condition may be, you can be looked after, as long as you have status to live here. In my country the standard of living is very poor. Some people live in shanty houses with no electricity and running water. Some people go without proper meals for days. Kids beg for food and there are lots of deadly and infectious diseases in the city and its surroundings. Poor sanitation and poor living conditions are making most Sierra Leoneans want to move or travel abroad to seek a better life and work.
The only thing I dislike about living in London is the weather. It is very cold and it’s always raining and its dark winter seems to go on forever. It is making me very depressed and I miss my country. All the same, London is still the best and I will remain faithful, and embrace and love her for all the wonderful things which she provides for me and my kids. May God bless the United Kingdom.

Early on in the Middle Ages, London was not the great city it has become in the world today, in fact it was not even called London, it was called Londinium, then Lundenwic, and finally London. In the beginning of the Middle Ages, London was just a small trading town on the banks of the Thames River in England. As the Middle Ages progressed, so did the city of London. Even with the plagues and wars that occurred in and around the city, it grew into the center of the kingdom of England. At the close of the Middle Ages, London was one of the largest cities in the world. From the time that the Angles, Saxons, and the Jutes arrived and settled London, the city grew to become one of the largest and most important cities in the medieval world.…
