SWOT ANALYSIS OF LIEGE –BELGIUM
Liège is located in the East part of Belgium, in Wallonia where the language is French. It is not far from borders with Germany and with Netherlands.
The area is over 69.39 km2 and the population is about 195,576, which means a density of 2,800 inhabitants/km2.

Weaknesses
Old historical city, Palais des Congrès (for business meeting), squares like “jardin botannique”, “parc de la boverie”, Christmas market, summer market, festivals (Les Ardentes, …),
Big shopping mall: Galleries Saint Lambert, Ilo Saint Michel, Passage Lemonnier and Gallerie Opéra in the center, Belle île and Médiacité (a new shopping mall with a unique design and an ice rink inside)
Too many shopping mall (it can be a strengths or a weaknesses, it depend on the perspective of the person. Personally I think it’s a strength. For exemple: lot of people come to Mediacité to find Primark because it’s the only one in Belgium)
The river (Meuse) for board
+ the leading Belgian inland port and third biggest inland port in Europe
Tax structure for companies and individuals
Train station (Les Guillemins) nearest highway in all Europe
Public transport (bus and only a little city bikes) and traffic jam due to the roadwork’s for the new tram
Airport especially for the transport of goods
Pay parking and parking with ticket machines
Pedestrian center
Violence in the suburbs (as in Droixhe and Bressoux)
