20 September 2010 Lloyd Christmas is a limo driver. The movie begins when Lloyd gets in the back of his limo and rolls down the window to ask a woman a question. Lloyd, “Excuse me. Could you tell me how to get to the medical school? I'm supposed to be giving a lecture in 20 minutes, and my driver's a bit lost.” Lady at bus stop, “You go straight ahead and make a left over the bridge.” Lloyd, “That's a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?” Lady at bus stop, “Austria.” Lloyd, “Austria! Well, then. G'day mate! (Jim Carrey) are the two main characters in the movie. If they each had half a brain, together they would still only have half a brain. Every day for Lloyd and Harry is a no brainer. The movie Dumb & Dumber was written by Peter Farrelly & Bennett Yellin in 1994. What makes a film like Dumb & Dumber stronger than current comedies like Old School is that the plot is never overstretched; everything in Dumb & Dumber seems to have the possibility of actually happening, or isn’t major enough to affect the plot in any way. Lloyd and Harry are very lovable and friendly, but very stupid friends, who struggle with every aspect of life.
Working as a limo driver, Lloyd drops off the beautiful Mary at the airport and instantly falls in love with her. Watching Mary through a window, Lloyd witnesses her leave her case behind. Grabbing her case, Lloyd is too late to reach her and falls off the Jetway again, but soon thinks of the next best thing. Dragging Harry with him, Lloyd heads off to Aspen to deliver the case to her personally. However, Mary isn't the only person after the case, as pair of criminals are after the same case …show more content…
too. Harry and Lloyd are two brainless buddies who try to return a suitcase full of money to its pretty owner.
After a journey full of accidents, they arrive in snowy Aspen, Colorado and try to find her. Lloyd Christmas is a loser taxi driver, who tries to return a suitcase which contains a lot of money to its owner, a beautiful woman named Marry Swanson which he took in his taxi to the airport, earlier. He must give her back the suitcase, and for that he goes with his dumb partner, Harry Dunne to a snowy town named Aspen. But a pair of criminals who wants the money try to follow them and to steal the money in the suitcase. Moreover, Harry and Lloyd both fall in love with Marry, and they struggle each other to win her heart. Here are some more quotes from the movie that just crack me up. Every time I watch the movie I still find myself chuckling at the same dumb acts and words that come out of their two mouths. Here are a couple of examples of what I’m talking about. Harry, “Yeah I called her up, she gave me a bunch of crap about me not listening to her, or something, I don't know, I wasn't really paying attention.”
Harry, “According to the map we've only gone 4
inches.”
Mary, “So you'll pick me up tonight at 7:45?”
Harry, “Well I got a few things to take care of. So how about we make it quarter to 8?” Mary, “Stop it.”
Harry, “Okay then 7:45.” Harry and Mary spend the early part of the day together and make plans to meet the evening of the same day at 7:45 pm. Later on that night (same day) as the three (Harry, Lloyd and Mary) are being held at gunpoint, Harry says, "Yesterday was the best day of my life. Mary and I went skiing". But it wasn't 'yesterday', it was earlier the same day that Harry and Mary went skiing, made a snowman, and she touched his leg. `Need I say more, this film has it all comedy, comedy, comedy, and that is all you need when you have a classic like this. I have heard people say that this film is just stupid, well they are right it is about two stupid guys doing a stupid thing in a stupid way and you just love them to bits for it. I almost swallowed my tongue, spat out my drink twice almost peed myself and watched it so many times I know the script even now 10 years on I still laugh it my friends eternal Harry and Lloyd...
