INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
Quiapo is considered as the heart of Manila with unique landmarks and where the rich and the poor interact with one another. No one can deny that Quiapo is very diverse in terms of culture, religion, and status. For the past years, Quiapo has been inhabited by various markets that somehow trigger people to take some time to go there for goods. On top of this, Quiapo is more famous, most especially for pilgrims, due to its very own Quiapo Church, which was built centuries ago during the Spanish colonization. As time goes by, Quiapo has becoming overpopulated that leaves people neglect acts like safety and security and proper waste management. The researcher’s goal in conducting this research is to know the perception of tourists as a basis for enhancements of Quiapo, Manila. This study will focus on proposing programs for beautification, preservation and restoration of the beauty and organization that Quiapo once had. Also, as said beforehand, is to propound possible ways to improve the manner how local residents and vendors operate in the area. The researchers are going to cooperate and consult the team governing the area to further understand its present situation. How the researchers will find ways to improve the quality of life in Quiapo for both local residents and tourists will be important to this research study.
