Loneliness By Laura Cortes Summary

Poet Laura Cortes published a poem called “Loneliness.” What happens to someone once they become elderly? While youthful someone is full of joy and happiness from surrounding loved ones. Unfortunately, a time comes where bodies age, becoming ancient, a time that more and more loved ones depart from our lives for whatever reason. Even in our old age there is still a reason to get up and gratify life. As days drag by for the man in the poem whom lost his family, what is he to intrigue himself with? Though it is disconsolate to be without your family, the man fortunately has an orchard of apples to engage himself with. When his family was with him he took care of them, likewise he takes care of his apples now since his family has left him.
