3. Factual Summary:
This source was about Josh Peltz, Upton Rehnberg, Rosebell Kirungi, Dominica McGowan, Mercedes Ramirez Johnson, and Fred Jones, six different plane crash survivors. Each of these six people have six different ages, six different stories, about six different plane crashes, six different types of causalities that were faced, and each of these people went through a traumatic experience that they never forgot.
Out of the six stories I read, I chose the story of Rosebell Kirungi, age 41. Her story was the most relevant to Lord of The Flies. Rosebell, on September 25, 1998, was sitting on a chartered flight from Uganda, going into Congo. She was sitting near a window and close to the wing of the plane. She also says that she was the only woman on board, with nine men. She had noticed that the plane was flying pretty low, and was wondering what was going on, when the pilot announced that he was losing control. She heard the panic of others in the plane, but she was sitting there thinking about her own family and praying. She had a four-year-old daughter at the time, and since she was also a single mother, she couldn’t bear the thought of her girl losing her mother.
The plane had crashed into the trees, and Rosebell talked about how she saw the wing on her side of the plane being ripped off. The next thing she says was about the condition of the plane after the crash. It was broken into pieces, and the others had gotten out, but she was still safely strapped to her seat, and with no injuries. She was in a position where the only way to get out for her was to climb out of the hole where the wing was. So she got out, and said that she was very calm, due to her faith.
The small group of people was then worried about being killed
