Situación del Mercado: La evolución del sector de productos de tocador, cosmética y perfumería mostró que durante la convertibilidad –tras la apertura comercial de los ’90 favoreció la entrada de empresas multinacionales y generó una alta concentración de las ventas en pocas firmas. Asimismo, el crecimiento ininterrumpido de las importaciones durante esos años, la reducción y posterior eliminación de los impuestos internos y el proceso de transformación de las vías de comercialización –particularmente el auge del supermercadismo y la transformación ocurrida en el sector de farmacias jugó un papel relevante en una ampliación y diversificación de la oferta de productos[1].

Situación de la Empresa: L´oréal es la empresa cosmética número uno en el mundo que desarrolla y comercializa productos de alta calidad atendiendo las constantes necesidades de los consumidores a nivel global y es sinónimo de belleza, innovación y éxito. Su misión es poner al servicio de la belleza y de la salud todos los avances científicos y tecnológicos, satisfaciendo las necesidades de hombres y mujeres.

L’oréal Argentina es una de las principales empresas del país, está presente en todos los canales de distribución, con un abanico de productos en posiciones líderes en muchos segmentos de mercado, incluyendo: maquillaje, cuidado del cabello y de la piel, coloración, fragancias y productos de protección solar [2]; que se clasifican en 4 unidades de negocio: Consumo masivo, Productos de Lujo, Dermo-Cosmética y Productos Profesionales.

1) Posicionamiento

L’orèal es líder en el mercado cosmético, posee un amplio portafolio de marcas y productos por lo que cubre la mayor cantidad de necesidades de su target, tiene un valor de maca muy alto y cuenta con un importate respaldo; así mismo, esta en constante investigación de desarrollo de productos creando una marca innovadora.
