1. “If there is a heaven on earth, it is here! It is here! It is here!” these are the words which aptly describe about - ‘Kashmir’. Beautiful snow clad peaks, crystal clear flowing rivers, picturesque pine forests, artistically carved Shikaras floating smoothly on the great Dal lake, tall standing mountains which makes you feel dwarfed…. All these things flash within a fraction of second with one word - ‘Kashmir’.
2. Kashmir has everything for its advantage to become one of the most prosperous states of India. Apples are produced here, walnuts are here, saffron is here, almonds are produced here and to top it all is tourism which can blossom here better than any other states in India. In spite of all the things favouring the prosperity, state always suffers a major setback because of ever looming threats caused by terrorism.
3. People have always suffered because of terrorism. They were denied their fundamental right of earing their living. One of the most affected fraternities is transport services. Whenever a bandh or hartal is announced by terrorists or terrorists supporting fundamentalists, it affects them severely. If they dare to run their business, they end up damaging their vehicles. Tourists transport business is also affected badly. When the terrorism is on the rise, people shy away from coming to Kashmir for tourism. Again, transport services feel the pinch. Classical example of this is 2010 agitation instigated by fundamentalists. Because of this large spread agitation Amarnath yatra was badly affected and the impact of this on entire Kashmir’s economy was so severe that it was almost on verge of collapsing.
4. As far as businessmen and shopkeepers are concerned they also face similar fate as that of transporters. There are so many restrictions faced by them because of terrorism. They are held up when any operation is going on. They have to keep shops, offices closed when a bandh or hartal is called. They
