Before they could officially open they needed to get there exhibitors C licenses so the USDA had to come out and inspect the premises. The USDA had to come out and inspect enclosures, animal conditions, shelter for the animals, shade, and also paperwork from the vet. They also do a surprise inspection every year to make sure everything is running smoothly and everything looks like it should. It took Carla and her partner who helps run the safari a several years to get everything prepared to past the inspection like making where the animals live and thing along those lines. For tours of their safari you have to make a reservation in advance the tour last around an hour and half they usually book twenty five people at a time during the tour they take you enclosure to enclosure showing you the different animals they have to offer. If you want you can call in advance you can have party so it’s just your group of friends going out there since Carla has another job but she’ll try her best to make your time work before a tour comes in they have to make a few preparations in which they have to clean the exposures even though they make sure to clean it daily already. Some animals are allowed in small enclosures so you can get close personal with the animal but after the tour is over they feed the animal it natural diet and put back in there large enclosure. In all they have around thirty five different animals to show you not even including the reptiles the ring tale lemurs is a favorite out at the safari because they are fun to watch, they make several different noises, and most of beautiful animals. They have acquired their animals from a wide variety of places they bought some of them then they also got a few from other small zoo like Lost Creek Safari they have also had a few donated to them. As for food for all the animals they have to buy it in a few different locations some have to get shipped in from different locations while they also can buy a good amount of food at Stillwater and Cimarron Co –Op in Perkins Oklahoma. One unique thing you can do at Lost Creek Safari is that you can feed and touch a zebra, lemurs and an ostrich which is very unique as in where else can you do those amazing
