Love Styles And Wellness Among Emerging Adults: Article Analysis
An Examination of Liking, Love Styles and Wellness Among Emerging Adults: implications for Social Wellness and Development

I chose this article because it was very interesting to me. When you are growing out of adolescence into adulthood, you never think of the psychology that is involved in your growing. You don’t think about how and what influences the person you are becoming or the person that you want to be when you reach adulthood. During this stage of social development, you learn more about what you like, how you love and the actual wellness that you are working toward. Most people will never think of this, they think that life is life and that you are just supposed to live it. They have no idea of the development and the consequences

This paper is an assessment of Mr. Holland, as represented in the movie Mr. Holland’s Opus (19) using Erik Erikson’s Theory of development. The underlying theme that stretches throughout Erikson’s theory is that of balance (Hergenhahn & Olson, 2003). Erikson (1963) divided the life cycle of an individual into developmental stages (Meyer et al., 1997). Each stage of development is characterized by what Erikson called a crisis; he used the word crisis as it results in an important turning point in one’s life cycle. The crisis has the possibility of a positive or a negative resolution. Erikson’s theory provides a description of some key universal concerns at each period of life. His theory is a bio-psycho-social theory which views humans as biological, psychological and sociological beings that are shaped by an interactive mix of forces (Corey, 2009).…

Many can remember the transition into what parents coin as the scariest part of raising kids. There are signs of it happening, such as late nights coming home without calling, deciding not to do chores that are expected of them, or simply not communicating as much as before. Positive signs can come about as being more responsible, but usually it is more self-concerned. In John Updike’s “A & P”, he illustrates the situation of how a young man evaluates his life and makes a decision to think on his own. Many young people go through this process, but the way they handle it can affect them for a lifetime.…

As a baby we have our identity created for us, they say “give me the boy at seven and I will give you the man” implying that until the age of seven a child is dependent on their very first social unit, that is family. It is the multiplicity and complexity of family that gives children real life experiences into human relationships and what teaches them morals and values which will always be a part of their identity, although as you age, and mature you become less dependent on your family and are able to venture out into the world. This usually happens around the age of adolescence. This is a time when adolescences have the world at their feet and they are “servants to their own dreams”. Many people enjoy this part of growing up as their bodies are at the peak, meaning they are able to push them to do whatever they want. They are less susceptible to illnesses and less likely to damage themselves; when they do the body’s ability to repair at that age is remarkable. Not only are they at the physically peak of their lives, they are usually at the social peak. Their social networks at this age are usually…

    * Who am I? What life experiences made me who I am today? Was it my family, my social environment where I went to school, the groups, or organizations that I belonged to, or was it certain life events that shaped me? * This paper is my attempt to show that my family and social environment, my life experiences from childhood to present influenced me to be the person that I am today and who I will be in the future. As I reflect upon my life, at the age of forty-nine, I have come to the conclusion that my family and social environment when growing up, surviving cancer in my twenties, and getting married in my thirties are the main social influences and life events that have shaped who I am today and who I want to become in the future. Every one of these experiences has given me something: learning to be independent from family…

Transitioning from childhood to adulthood is one of the best and worst transitions of life. The ability of being able to make your own decisions and taking care of yourself creates a thrill but also a sense of fear. I grew up, though, and understood that being an adult isn’t all fun and games. The responsibility, stress, and independence hit me like a freight train during my senior year. However, I’m learning how to manage my time, deal with stress in productive ways, and responsibility with a positive outlook became of utmost importance to…
