Cooking for the same crowd adds to my joy in cooking. Knowing my like and dislikes give me joy, because I know what is going to satisfy their taste buds. My family’s satisfaction only adds to my joy of cooking all that much more. I base my decision on what to cook on when the weather is like.
I decided to cook greens today, because it was raining. Greens are a pick me up for my family and one of our favorites and one of our favorites. They are a vegetable that is low in fat, high in proteins and vitamins. The things I like least about cooking greens are picking off the stem, which is a tenor chore. I think that’s one of the reasons my family is so partial to greens. And again happy family adds to the cook’s happiness. The smell of greens cooking is pure love, happiness, and joy. Once greens get to going the aroma fills the house with the house with that joy. People can smell greens all over the neighborhood.

Food provokes lively, warm, jovial feelings for me; this is especially true during the holidays. Baked goods still sparks my olfactory sense and makes me reminisce of Christmas. When I recall these memories I am at my grandmother’s house as a young child. It starts when the oven door opens, vapors of brown sugar waft through the kitchen and the caramelized, buttery aroma with lingering scents of cinnamon. For me, these memories fill me with joy and always evoke a grin. This feeling are even stronger when I recall, in particular, baguettes. My interest in bread became irrepressible at the beginning of my cooking career, and developed into a obsessive urge to create perfection the more I focused on it.…

The Civil War was the bloodiest war the United States has ever fought - killing over 620,000 Americans and causing more destruction than any other war. Long standing conflicts and disagreements made the violent war seem inevitable years before it happened, and led to it becoming a major turning point in US history. Americans have struggled with sectionalism since the colonial days, as seen in the issue of slavery and states rights, and the passing of documents and compromises such as the Articles of Confederation in an attempt to unify the colonies. During the period around the Civil War, the universal idea of manifest destiny reignited sectionalism between states because of arguments over whether to admit new lands in the West as slave or…
