Low Pay Research Paper
Now that we’ve seen how much the highest paid female athlete earns on an average salary, let’s compare that to the $300 million that Floyd Mayweather earn on an average salary. Even if we wanted to, it’s not possible because it’s a very large difference.
Floyd Mayweather is a professional boxer who shattered the record for athlete earning, which was previously held by Tiger Woods who banked $115 million. This is the third time in four years that Mayweather has ranked as the world’s highest paid athlete. Mayweather said ahead of is May 2 fight with Manny Pacquiao, “Even from day one when I was with Bob Arum, I said I wanted to work extremely hard to get to a certain point in my career, which is to get to a point to be the first fighter to ever make nine figures in one night,” well mission accomplished for the man they call money.
The $24.6 million that Serena Williams earns on an average salary does not compare to the $300 million that Floyd Mayweather earns. It’s understandable that they do play two totally different sports, but their immense talent that they put out in the court and in the ring is equally the same.
The differences in men and females salaries in the same sport, has a huge gap. Inequality pay for women has been a topic to talk about since way before I could remember.

However, it’s not surprising female tennis players are the first to rise to the top, as professional tennis has made efforts to become equal in their pay and treatment of their athletes. In 2007, Wimbledon provided equal prizes to all of their male and female players for the first time in

The premiere athletes of today’s sports can make upwards of 30 millions dollars in one year. This alone can raise some eyebrows. Now take into account that this amount of money is 75 times as much money as the President of the United States made last year. The President, by their pay, is less important than an athlete, like a LeBron James, but this couldn’t be any further from the truth. Compared to an actual beneficial job, like teaching, the athletes we gladly shell out millions of dollars for are very overpaid.…

Would all the athletes get paid the same amount? If so, that certainly seems strange and borderline imbalanced. It is to no fault of the athlete who plays a sport that doesn’t air on national television; but it doesn’t seem acceptable that they get paid the same amount as the college football player competing in the National Championship with 33 million people watching them. No fault to the “non-revenue producing” sport that an athlete is playing. They may work just as hard, so shouldn’t they be rewarded equally? The viewer rating for the NCAA’s men’s basketball national championship game is significantly higher than the ratings for the women’s national championship. Are those woman who put in the same amount of blood and sweat into their game at fault too? They can’t control the popularity and ratings of the sport they play. The reality of the situation is there is too big a gray area when it comes to analyzing different sports. The same goes for Division II and Division III sports. Why shouldn’t those athletes be paid the same if they put in the same amount of time to practice, travel, and play…
