This is an immature exaggeration of what is true. The two don’t just say things that are not worth the consequences, the two actually do the things they say. In Juliet’s case, she agrees to marry Romeo. By doing this, she needs to be with him for the rest of their lives, or she will be condemned to hell. Also, she cannot marry again, and her father already has a plan to marry her off in place for her. She is also risking having her father realize whatshe has done, who will be extremely angry, as his plan is to wed her to the best bachelor in Verona, Paris.
