“Pig the Fibber” is part of a series of “Pig the Pug” written and illustrated by Australian author, Aaron Blabey published in 2015. In this humourous picture book, the main character, Pig the pug, behaves badly and tells fibs. His loyal ‘long’ suffering friend, Trevor, a sausage dog is blamed for Pig’s lies and misconduct. This story has a moral and is a good lesson for young readers, as in the end all the bad behaviour catches up with Pig. The illustration on the front cover draws the reader in with a simple illustration of a defiant looking Pug with mischievous exaggerated bulging eyes and red crayon nonchalantly resting on his bottom lip. The text “Pig the Pug” in black print has been altered by Pig and his red crayon he has crossed out…

    Li Po's Metamorphosis

Could philosophy radically transform an artist's worldview and subsequently their art? This is the case as Li Po's later works prioritize Taoist principles such as removal from the material world. Li Po’s change in thematic emphasis coincides with his banishment from court and formal conversion to Taoism. (Holman and Snyder) Taoists played a unique role in society as they were, “honored by emperors and members of the nobility, they were scorned, as a rule, by literati-officials and treated with a mixture of reverence and familiarity by ordinary people" (Verellen). His friends from the material world no longer mattered in Po’s life as they wouldn’t have in the lives of other Taoists of the era. Po reminisces stating that, “for a while I had these…

    Lennie Character Analysis

    • 440 Words
    • 2 Pages

Regardless to the fact Lennie is considered one of the principle characters in ‘Of Mice and Men’, he is arguably the least exciting. Throughout the novel he seems to be the same person as on the first pages, enduring no development, growth or significant changes. His character is very simple, in most scenes he is in, it is reinforced that he is very strong, he enjoys petting soft things and is devoted to George and the American Dream, that he and George will someday own a farm. It is this simplicity and helplessness in everyday life that earns the readers sympathy, and also forms the idea in the reader’s mind that Lennie is doomed. The powerful impact is created by the inevitability of Lennie’s death, so the reader’s sympathy and understanding…

Everlost, by Neal Shusterman is in my opinion a horror. Most of the story took part in everlost a sort of limbo that is halfway between life and death. There are two or maybe three main characters in Everlost depending on how you look at it. They are at least Nick and Allie, and maybe Mary. Nick and Allie meet Mary the self proclaimed queen of Everlost, and Nick falls in love with Mary and wants to stay. However Allie wants to leave everlost and stars to against warnings from Mary learn the Criminal arts. Otherwise known as haunting. Allie then gets caught up in a sarade to keep the monster mcgill from destroying the balance in everlost by claiming his mortal body back. The author used switching characters often as a way to get get different…

Question 6: Malcolm and Mcduff are depicted in Act 4, in the English court. Shakespeare presents Malcolm as extremely suspicious and cautious, as he does not want to make the mistake is father did, by placing his entire trust, in untrustworthy person. Hence, Malcolm tests Mcduffs moral codes by lying and saying that he is loathsome and greedy and will abuse his power if crowned king, shown through the text “…. the cistern of my lust, and my desire. All continents impediments would o’erbear that did oppose my will.” However, Mcduff replies that he will leave for a different continent if be the case, demonstrating to Malcolm, Mcduffs moral codes. However, after Mcduff is presented with the knowledge that his wife, child and relatives have been murdered; the calm and peacefulness man behavior changes into an erratic and infuriated, powered by grief. Malcolm uses this situation as an opportunity to allow Mcduff to develop anger towards Macbeth, by saying, “ …let grief convert to anger…” with Mcduff replying, “Bring thou fiend of Scotland and myself; within my swords length set him,” showing that Mcduff, a calm and morally just person has turned into a grief-stricken soul, with nothing more than revenge fueling him.…

    Character Evaluation

I chose to evaluate the character of Charlie Harper from the show Two and a Half Men series. The Big Five traits are: Openness to Experience, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. In the following essay I will evaluate the chosen character within these trait categories. We are, by human nature, social beings. Therefore, individual differences regarding our sociality should prove very important to us. We notice broad differences between people in the way they orient themselves to each other, and as a consequence perhaps, we have many words in our language to describe those differences. (McAdams, 2009) First of all, in the category of Extraversion, the main character Charlie Harper displays ambiversion personality traits. Throughout the course of the series, he shows himself to be somewhat reckless and heedless, always landing himself in trouble. These are characteristics of an extrovert. However, he is also a bit of a loner, liked by many but forming deep and intimate friendships with only a few individuals. He is somewhat socially awkward. These are all traits of an introvert. Because he shows traits from both ends of the scale, I would say that Charlie falls right into the middle of Extraversion and Introversion, making him an Ambivert.…

When children experience trauma throughout their childhood, it can manifest in dangerous ways in their later life. Much like what happens to Truddi Chase, the main character and narrator of the novel. She was subjected to physical, sexual, and emotional abuse from the age of two. This abuse she suffered by the hands of her mother and stepfather is the reason that she developed ‘the troops’ which is how she refers to her other personalities. The troops are made up of over 92 different and distant personalities, which their own names, memories and emotion range. This novel also demonstrates how difficult it can be to diagnosis multiple personality disorder or dissociative identity disorder. The troops and Truddi had met with many different doctors and specialist before meeting with Robert Philips who was able to put a name to what she was experiencing throughout her life.…
