Lying: Article Analysis
You see your friend at school and he tells you how is my hair what do you do lie or tell the truth.
Some people lie just to protect others and their feelings. I believe lying is only acceptable when it can be used to protect and care for others.
Lying can help protect feelings of others. For example, in the article, “it’s the truth” by NBC news Randy cohen states that “some people lie to protect someone from serious harm.” This shows that cohen lies just to protect people’s feelings. This is important because cohen likes to lie but he uses it in a good way. For example, in the article lies, lies, lies, by paul gray it states that the military and intelligence officials will as a matter of routine lie to protect secret plans or agents at risk. This shows that the military protect their secret plans so they won't die.,what I mean by this is the military is lying to protect each other so they won't die. In conclusion I believe lying is ok only when it's used to protect others.

For example in the article, lies, lies, lies, by Paul gray it states that lying to protect can literally be a matter of life or death. Anne Frank survived as long as she did because those sheltering her and her family lied to the nazis. This shows that Anne Frank and her family saved each other from a dangerous situation. To put it another way is Anne Frank and her family lied to save each other. For example, in the article, tell the truth by Barbara Ballinger it states that we shouldn't manipulate the truth except for rare times if you're hiding Anne Frank in your attic because her life is in danger. This shows that someone put Anne Frank in her attic because her life was in danger. To put it in another way is someone lied to save Anne Frank’s life. In conclusion, I believe lying is ok for saving someone's

The athletic clothing brand "Lululemon Athletica" (commonly known as Lululemon) was founded in Vancouver BC in 1998. The first Lululemon shared its retail space with a yoga studio. The Lululemon name was chosen in a survey of 100 people from a list of 20 brand names and 20 logos. The logo is actually a stylized "A" that was made for the first letter in the name "athletically hip", a name which failed to make the grade. The first real store opened in November of 2000. Lululemon’s target markets are men and women who are looking for athletic apparel for yoga, running, dancing, and most other sweaty pursuits.…

The first reason lying is never okay is because it gives people false hope. One example of giving people false is in the beginning of the novel the Nazis lied to the Jews and gave them false hope saying the concentration camps were not going to be bad but they were actual torture to the Jews. Lying made the Jews think they…

To lie or not to lie? We are often faced with this question when stuck in sticky situations. It seems as if lying is our second nature, and that is not a good thing. In the articles “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell The Truth” by Barbara Ballinger and “Teens Do Their Share of Lying” by Loretta Ragsdell, the authors discuss lying and argue its’ justifiability. I agree with the concept that lying is never acceptable because it is morally wrong.…

“65 percent of those questioned said it was sometimes OK to lie to avoid hurting someone’s feelings, even though 52 percent said lying, overall, was never, justified” (NBCNEWS.com 7). Can lying sometimes be acceptable or should it be unjustified? So, if it’s acceptable to lie, under what conditions/circumstances is it justified? In the article, “It’s the Truth: Americans Conflicted About Lying” NBCNEWS.com believes that lying is acceptable in certain situations. However, in the article, “Brad Blanton: Honestly, Tell the Truth” by Barbara Ballinger, Brad Blanton suggests that, “Being honest all the time is what’s radical - and rare.” Overall, he thinks that being honest the better than lying. The dictionary defines a lie as, “a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood.” However, while the intent of a lie is to deceive, that deceit is not always intended to cause detriment to others. Lies can be told for justifiable reasons such as to protect the feelings of others, but more often lies are told for the wrong reasons. For example, lies are mostly told to avoid the consequences of one’s actions such as with criminal activities and academic misconduct. When comparing acceptable and unacceptable reasons to lie, the unacceptable reasons greatly outnumber the acceptable.…

In the article Teens Do their Share of Lying by Loretta Ragsdell its states, “becoming a good liar is a necessary life-survival skill.” said Tim. “Sometimes, it’s the only thing between you and a guaranteed beat down from your parents.” As Tim stated, lying can be a necessity, it is something that can even define the thin line between two…

    Way We Lie

First off let me start of by saying that we lie. We all do. We exaggerate, we leave out things, we avoid confrontation, we try to be inconsideration of other people feelings, we conveniently forget some aspects of the truth and even keep secrets. Like most people, I find myself in situations of small falsehoods and still think of my self of an honest person. Sure I lie, but it’s not really bothering anyone or anything.…

Should lying ever be considered an action to do? Lying has been considered a wrongful deed however people still do it for multiple reasons. Even though most of the time people should tell the truth, there are situations where it's better to manipulate the facts. For example according to “It’s the Truth: Americans Conflicted about Lying” ethics columnist Randy Cohen states that lying is used to protect people from harm. Tim from “Teens do their share of lying” says that lying can save one from a beatdown by their parents. Brad Blanton from “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell the Truth” however states that lying is stressful to one and telling the truth is easier, but a lie can help people out and no one can be honest all the time.…

Lying can be used as a way to respond to conflict. I am sure that at least once in your life you have lied about something to protect yourself or someone else. In the story “The Diary of Anne Frank” Anne is a Jewish girl hiding with her family from the Nazis. While in the annex, they have friends who keep their secret by lying about their location so they don’t get caught. (Frank 122-124) Another example would be the book “The Boy In The Striped Pajamas”. The young boy Bruno thinks the concentration camps near his new house are farms, his mother and father refuse to tell him what it actually is. Bruno lies to…
