Poetry Project English 10 Noah Stoner 4A Lyric Poem: Baseball is life Some people think it’s just a game
And that is really quite a shame
It’s more than that
It’s more than just a ball and bat A feeling when the bat goes crack
The ball flies to the warning track
Round the bases
Joy is on the fans bright faces Will he be safe? Will he be out?
We wait to hear the umpires shout
Tension is rife
And that is why baseball is life!

No time to react
The tornado crashes through
A deadly bomb
Chaos is all on its mind
Destroying all in its path
A little girl
Weeps on the sidewalk
She thinks
What have we done to deserve
This?
Destruction is all she can see
For miles and miles
On end It happens so quickly
The people react
Neighbor with neighbor
A helping hand
Relief is all on their mind
Cleaning all in their path
A little girl

Tears of joy
How did this happen?

Rebuilding is all she can see

Ballad: Marathon To run to run is a glorious thing
Thinking about it just makes my feet sing
My spirits are lifted, my feet take wing
A rush of adrenaline it does bring The race all began with my brother mark
He said common it will be such a lark
Then after that we had to work and train
We pushed and pushed through the wind and the rain To run to run is a glorious thing
Thinking about it just makes my feet sing

Our legs start to move showing that we’re bold
I said to myself, this running is fun
