Demetrius is more of a cold soul, but that is transfigured in the final bits of the play, and Lysander is the hopeless romantic of the play. He spoils Hermia with little knacks and treats and even sings to her at her window sill in the night “Thou hast by moonlight at her window sung/ With faining voice verses of feigning love[...]” (1,1:31,32). Though it is quite obvious that the two men are tremendously different, there also are some similarities, more so near the end of the play as opposed to the beginning/middle. Both men find a partner in which they marry. In the final act, Lysander and Demetrius lock away their differences, and resolve the conflict between the…
In The Namesake based on the book and movie by Jhumpa Lahiri, there are several events and scenes that are interpreted differently throughout the film and book. The book is based on Gogol Ganguli, the son of immigrant parents Ashoke and Ashima Ganguli who struggles with his double identity and rebellion towards his family. The movie is quite different with its focus on the parents and their relationship more than Gogol, the main character. The characters in the book that are portrayed by the actors in the film are very important because it subtracts and diverts the focus of Gogol’s struggles who is the heart of the novel.…

The movie, The Crucible was written by Arthur Miller in 1952. It is about Salem witch trials that happened near the Massachusetts Bay during 1692 and 1693. Miller wrote the play because of McCarthyism. Before the court trials anyone, he had a lot of hearings before they chose who is guilty of witchcraft. When the court found out who was guilty, they would be hung between February 1692 and May 1693. Even though The Crucible is based on the Salem witch trials, the play and the movie are different in some ways like the relationship between John Proctor and Abigail Williams, and the towns’ reaction to the Putnam’s.…

Demetrius hates Helena at the start of the play. An example of this is: “for I am sick when I do look at thee”. This implies that Demetrius hates Helena because he is saying that he is calling her repulsive. Furthermore, Demetrius is bantering Helena and hopes that she would get offended and just leave him alone. On the other hand Demetrius loves Hermia at the start of the play. An Example is: “relent, sweet Hermia”. This suggests that Demetrius wants her to become less tense and just love him. In addition, when Demetrius calls Hermia sweet he means it as a compliment.…
Emerson and Thoreau share similar views on life. They share similar views on life like thinking that it should be taken with simple steps and with ease, living life the way you want to, and appreciating the little values that come along with it. Thoreau states that life should be simple and that “being in the now” is taking over. Everyday advances in the world are starting to choose how we live for us, instead of living our lives ourselves. Emerson says that appreciating small things, appreciating yourself, and appreciating others around you is life. These are the points stated by Emerson and Thoreau on how life should be for everyone.…

My two nephews Steven and Eric are the same age and fight all the time. Eric has a terrible temper, he cannot control himself when he gets mad, and will say hateful things to you if he is mad. Once he even told me that he hated me! Hayden is just like Eric when it comes his to temper. Hayden has a red hot temper and will even go as far as swinging his fist at me, if I make him mad. In addition to my nephews’ bad temper, they also have a ruthless attitude. Eric has a bad attitude when things are not going his way, if I were to ask him to do something while he is playing video games he would get mad and start yelling at me. Hayden is similar to Eric when it comes to a bad attitude, except he does not yell at you. He will kick things and cry if you make him mad. As well as their bad tempers and attitudes, they also are very stubborn. Eric will hear what I’m telling him, but act like he did not hear what I said. Hayden is equally as stubborn as Eric except I think he can really tune me out and not hear what I’m saying. If I were to be talking to him and ask him what I just said he will not know because he just doesn’t listen. Both of these boys are alike in so many ways, so I can see why they are always fighting.…
