MLA Style Analysis
MLA does not require a separate cover page, unless the teacher requests one. However, an MLA style essay does require the authors name, the teachers name, the class name, and the date. In an introductory paragraph, an introduction comes before a good thesis statement. Yes, the essay was summarized and summaries help the reader understand what the essay is about. At the top of the page with the quoted citations you would use the words “Works Cited.” The citations should be in alphabetical order.
After reading the sample I’ve seen where I make mistakes, now I can use this as a guideline for my future reports. Hopefully now I can further my writing ability by using proper MLA style.

Back in 1960, Harper Lee finally published her famous novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. There have been many debates on why this novel outshined others, although many sources say they have come to an answer. The conclusion was simply that book was relatable! It was not worked up to a ridiculous amount of illusory action or played up with gory violence. It spoke with severe truth, and an intensive storyline! Authors tend to base their stories, if not exactly, off of experiences they have had. Not only because familiarity is comforting, but it gives the writer a sense of real involvement in the world they have created. Writers do this because their work tends to sound and feel more factual, and genuine. Harper Lee’s National medal of Arts Winner, To Kill a Mockingbird, is a prime example of this phenomenon.…

Often, it helps to narrow your topic (or make it more specific and focused) before you start doing research. Complete the following exercise to turn your topic into a research question by using the same information gathering technique that journalists use. Additional “stasis” questions that might help you narrow a topic include cause and effect and value (i.e. good, right, just and appropriate). For an example of how to do this, click on the “Form a Research Question” sub-tab under http://libguides.lmu.edu/topic.…
