Macbeth

I saw the play Macbeth. This play was produced by the DLS/CHS company. I saw this play on April 8, 2017. This play was performed at the DLS theatre. This play was a good performance because the character Macbeth showed major progression throughout the play.
In the exposistion King Duncan rules the kingdom. In the rising action Macbeth is influenced to kill King Duncan to take the throne for himself. The major conflict throughout the play is Macbeth dealing with the aftermath of killing King Duncan because he starts to see people that were killed and has to stop others from discovering how he came to be king. The climax is when Macbeth fights Mcduff for the throne. The resolution is when Mcduff

Some of the most interesting moments were when Macbeth kills Duncan and slips away without anyone noticing. The murder takes place off stage but you see Macbeth run out and the other characters find the kings dead body. Another interesting moment is when Mcduff battles Macbeth at the end of the play. This was interesting because the whole play had led up to the demise of Macbeth and Mcduff had finally found out who killed Duncan. Mcduff kills Macbeth by cutting of his head.
This play affects society because it shows that you can’t get away with murder. It shows that you will always pay for your crimes. I connect with the concept of people getting what they deserve in this play because I think that it is only fair that people pay for what they have done. The message was that murder can destroy yourself and anger those around you. This play was successful in showing this message. There was nothing detracting from the message of this play.
Over all this was a strong production. One thing I would like to see differently in another production of this is modified dialog so that it is easier to understand what is happening. I can learn how to upstage people and take status when it is needed and how to raise my voice and use space to my advantage. I can also learn how to show my characters personality and communicate when I am not the one talking and with the most

The movie Macbeth has many differences from the actual play; here are just a few of them. First of all it is set in a completely different time period most likely the late 1930’s to the early 1940’s, while the original storyline is during the late 1400’s or during the early 1500’s. Though this change did change the settings, it was a really interesting contrast the two time periods. The second was that the witches in the play are always somewhere in the forest or an area that is not populated by humans when they meet Macbeth and when they talk together; but in the movie they are always in Macbeths house and they are nurses, which is what you would call ironic because nurses are always good and kind but they are evil. Third of all is that there is never a scene with Hecate and they never mention her at all, but in the play she does show up and talk to the witches. The fourth is the Apparitions; in the play there is an armed head, a bloody child, and a little boy with a crown on his head holding a tree. While in the movie they are only bodies of the dead inside bags that speech through the witches, the only apparition that remained the same was the line of kings and Banquo. Lastly was the part where Macduff’s family is murdered, in the play Macbeth was never there unlike I the movie and Ross never sees that the family has been murdered he hears about it and the little boy was killed for insulting one of the murders. The movie is good but I prefer the play because by adding and cutting out certain parts it loses something.…

Shakespeare’s Macbeth is an excellent tragedy that deserves great recognition. This play contains a tragic hero who is brave, has to make choices and restores order. There is fear and pity throughout the play caused by the murders of Duncan, Banquo and Macduff’s family. As well, the play ends in hope because Macbeth is killed, Malcolm is crowned king and peace is restored in Scotland. These are all key aspects to a great…

The Folger Shakespeare Library production of Macbeth was unrivaled by its made-for-film counterparts in general quality. Though it was challenged by the obvious limitations of a filmed play (limited special effects, live and unedited, set changes, etc.), it overcame these handicaps by virtue of clever choices in staging and set construction, the deep understanding and ability of the actors, and special and sound effects tailored to theme and interpretation. The overall effect of the theatrical production was that of a unique and inspired interpretation of the Scottish play.…

In the play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare, being a tragic hero or villain is a debatable dilemma of Macbeth's character. Some people think Macbeth is a tragic-hero because he is forced to commit his crimes by the spell of the three witches and the pressure from his wife. But other people think that Macbeth may be a villain due to his bloody deeds and over-ambition.…

I played the role of Macbeth in the film. In act 3, scene 1 Macbeth is noticeably frantic and rash, making the desperate decision to assassinate Banquo and his son. For this role I really had to focus on harnessing the madness of Macbeth. It took me a few minutes to think it over, and I had to put all joking and messing around aside for the filming of the scene. I was satisfied with the end result and proud of myself for interpreting a blood drunk and power thirsty Macbeth.…

The famous 17th century poet Oscar Wilde once wisely stated “when liberty comes with hands dabbled in blood, it is hard to shake hands with her.” This statement illustrates the connection made by modern and historical society between blood and evil/guilt. Hands spotted with blood are often punished as the hands of the culpable, but can also be celebrated as the hands of the honourable. Blood imagery is a prominent motif in Shakespeare’s Macbeth, and is used by the playwright to reveal character and develop themes. More specifically, we observe blood imagery as being used initially as a symbol for honour, progressing into one of evil and treason, and eventually guilt.…

The event that I had chose was that Macbeth had found out that Lady Macbeth was really evil, and the fact was that Macbeth had found out that this had been very important to know because he had made the mistake of killing Macduff's family and killing King Duncan. But what was really good was that Macduff had found out what Macbeth had done and what his true colors were, so while Macduff had been with the king of Scotland the king had agreed to help Macduff take Macbeth down, this event is also the cause of the fall of Macbeth and I believe that it is the resolution of this play.…

Not only do the witches taunt Macbeth in the beginning of the play, they come back again and again. With each visit, the witches plant seeds of doubt and madness within Macbeth through their hissing and cackles which was a good interpretation by the director. This truly shows the evil power the group of three hold and how this madness and evil could be spread to anyone close enough to hear their manic laughter. At first the witches' visits are irking, but in the full reach of their power, Macbeth begins to hallucinate and hear his name being repeated over and over. This to me, was the greatest scene in the play. It genuinely had me spooked, yet kept its artistic qualities making it not cliche like a lot of “losing sanity” scenes are. The actor as Macbeth genuinely had me engrossed and convinced as well. The skulls in the trees was a fantastic touch to show the evil and made the audience feel and see what Macbeth did, including the audio. The audio of Macbeth's name being repeated throughout…
