Macbeth's Entry To My Husband

As Macbeth, Ross, Lennox, and the various Lords walked from the coronation hall to the banquet room with me, I reminisced on what helped my husband get to where he is today. Macbeth has done a lot to thwart competitors. He killed his own King and his dear friend Banquo. Nevertheless, my husband is the man being crowned today. I fully believe in my heart he will be a righteous king. I fear he may one day go mad from the murders, but alas, it was to keep hold of the crown. Macbeth tells me once more of the ordered hit of Banquo, how he was suspicious of his actions. He tells me not to worry my pretty little head about it, and to enjoy my evening. “We chant, “All Hail The King”, as we strut through the corridor down the hall to the banquet room.
Everyone is seated at the dining table now. The guest we have this evening, including me, look unsettled. I lean over and advise Macbeth to make the other guests feel more welcome, it’s not like they’re paying for their meal. He raises his glass for a toast with each person at the table.
“Thanks for reminding me! A toast to good health and digestion!”, he shouts.
Lennox asks Macbeth to sit and join the others at the table. Macbeth makes a comment about Banquo being late to supper. Then Ross requests for Macbeth to sit. Abruptly, Macbeth’s eyes go wide.
When Duncan was killed Macbeth saw a floating dagger. I urged everyone to not be alarmed at the babbling on to someone that isn’t there. I’m anxious about how people will react. My hands are sweating. My face is a few clammy. Ross, Lennox, and all of the Lords are looking. They’re shuffling about talking in hushed whispers. Soon they will be asking questions like, “Who is he talking to? Is this a game? Is he fit to rule? Has he lost his mind?” Macbeth has lost his composure now. He speaks like he knows who he’s chatting with. Must it be? Banquo, here now? No, it must be one of my husbands fits. He always gets like this when the delusions
