---(2.) Well all of these things happened to Magda Brown. Magda lost her identity and name, Which only left her with one tattoo to identify herself… number 23673.---(1.) This number could be how many jews they had captive at the time. Magda suffered many tragedies through the period of 10 years. But the pain did not stop there. The memories were not removed. The lives of the lost will never be renewed. The bodies would be recovered but many would never be buried. Magda Brown would end up on a death march leading to… nowhere. Starting off the holocaust, more than 800,000 Jews were killed in the ghettos. After that, almost 440,000 Jews were deported.---(3.) Magda was not lucky enough to be one of them.
Magda and her whole family were in a boxcar with 80 other people. What Magda didn't know …show more content…
was that 3 out of 4 people were gassed right after they got to their destination. All of her family was killed right away except for Magda. She stayed in a concentration camp with 14,000 other Jews. In her whole trip to the concentration camp trip, her and her family only had one bucket of water with no refills and one bucket for waste. The trip was three days long. Magda and every other Jews diet was just about 200-300 calories a day. Of course, they didn't get meat and healthy foods to keep from showing their ribs but it was just enough to live, which isn't much at all. Magda also says it was very hard not to go insane. So many Jews were so scared for so long that they didn't care what happened anymore so they did very daring things. She didn't want to end up like them, but she did want all of this to end.
All of her hope was being used up every second that the holocaust went on.
Many believe that this motivated her and kept her alive. Magda lived through the concentration camp but there were many more challenges to come. This is including her death march. 6 out of 70 family members lived through the march. She said “We were no longer citizens to be protected by the police… There are no words to describe the cruelty.”--(4.) She eventually is reunited with her family in 1946. She got married in 1962. Magda’s advice is to never hate because that is the whole reason why Hitler did what he did.---(5.) She still wears the star that she had to wear back then. She took it and made it into a necklace. This isn't to remember all the tragedies but to keep in mind that anyone can do anything. She now talks about her experiences from concentrations camps and how to be a medical assistant. Is she doing the right thing by teaching kids about her experiences or is it to inappropriate for
kids?
