That are getting scars and bloody toes. The play spike heels was written by Theresa Rebeck and directed by Deborah Mello. I viewed the play spike heels at the Miami Dade Community College Kendall campus auditorium. The play consisted of four characters; there were two males Andrew and Edward and two females Lydia and Georgie. The role of Andrew was performed by Arnaldo Carmouze and the role of Edward was played by Sheaun Mckinney. The part of Georgie was beautifully played by Natalie Morales and Lydia witch was performed by Karina Hernandez. This play took place in a Boston apartment during present time. The play opened up in a much undefined manner doing a poor job in explaining the characters that were being spoken about. For instance when the play began the characters of Lydia and Andrew were being spoken about but the audience had no idea who they were, even though the character of Lydia was a bit better explained than Andrew they still left some gaps. Another issue that was exaggerated in an un realistic way were the curse words, I can understand that the character Georgie was supposed to be bad mouthed but not even the worst mouthed person wouldn't have repeated the "F" word so many times.…

The bench was made out of wood that was a golden brown. There was also cotton that was really thick so that we would not sit on hard wood. The bench was about three feet high and maybe also four feet long. I do not know how Trek got to it, but he had tour off the cotton on the bench. I was ashamed that he did that. Did not know what was up with him and that bench that he could not leave it alone. Also, then he had the habit of biting into my shoes as I am walking in them. My shoes were a pair of Jordan’s. The colors on there were grey all around with the pink outline around and white at the bottom. I used to always wear those shoes almost every day. They were like my favorite pair of…

The story Black Holes and Basketball Shoes by Lori Aurelia Williams is based very closely on experiences from her child hood. The story revolves around a teenager named Malik, and his self perceived need for a new wardrobe. He just moved to Houston with his single mother and brothers and sisters, he has had a hard time fitting in even if he is a smart and nice kid. Things are different than where he came from, in Houston it's all about nice clothing and shoes, which Malik lacked. He is bullied for his wardrobe and he would do anything for a new pair of "JC Jumpers", and he almost does. Carl, an enormous yet nice ninth grader who lives next to him is in a gang called the bullets wants to help Malik get new gear, and do it by beating up a basketball player and taking his clothes. This provides Malik with a moral dilemma, take the shoes or don't, this helps him develop a strong character. The perception of Malik and Carl to the reader change greatly over the course of beginning to end.…
