The most appropriate organizational structure for Riordan Manufacturing to implement a new customer management system would be a bureaucratic style. A bureaucratic organization relies on standardizing work processes for coordination and control. A bureaucracy runs by having highly routine operating tasks upheld through formalized rules and regulations. The biggest strength of a bureaucracy is the ability to perform standardized activities efficiently. This would work well for Riordan Manufacturing because everyone would follow the same guidelines to implementing their customer information. Everyone would be on the same page in the input of the customer information and this would make it easier to understand the information when needed. Other types of structures, like the matrix structure, would operate against the Riordan Manufacturing Company because it would have different departments doing different things with the customer information.…

Through the use of Encoders and Decoders you can filter out interference signals from other devices such as when talking about a remote control. When using a wireless remote control system it is desirable to have a way of filtering out or ignoring those unwanted signals to prevent false data from being received. A simple way to accomplish this is to use an encoder IC at the transmitter and a decoder IC at the receiver. The encoder generates serial codes that are automatically sent three times and must be received at least twice before data is accepted as valid by the decoder circuit…

The company has two and ovens that it uses to bake the cookies. The production process is called a batch processing system. It begins as management gets orders from distributors. These orders are used to schedule production. At the start of each shift, a list of the cookies to be made that day is delivered to the person in charge of mixing. That person checks a master list, which indicates the ingredients needed for each type of cookie, and enters the information into the computer. The computer then determines the amount of each ingredient needed, according to the quantity of cookies ordered, and relays that information to storage silos outside the plant where the main ingredients (flour, sugar, and cake flour) are stored. The ingredients are automatically sent to giant mixing machines where the ingredients are combined with…

The cookie production processing is called batch processing system to produce the dough used to make its cookies. The baking company uses two continuous ovens to bake the cookies. The text states that “Batch processing is used when a moderate value of goods or services is desired, and it can handle a moderate variety of products and services” (Stevenson, 2011, p. 237). After production is scheduled, the first step is the delivery of an order list to the person in charge of mixing who determines the ingredients that are needed to complete the order in order to get the quantity. The computer sends the ingredients automatically to the mixing machines. After mixing, batter is cut into cookie shape and then deposited on a conveyor belt that will take it through the oven for cooking. After cooking, cookies are cooled, and then workers box each cookie by hand, discarding any that do not meet standards. Lastly, a machine wraps, seals and labels boxes, which are then ready to be delivered to distributors and sold in convenience stores and supermarkets.…
