Old Sana'a
Hello everyone, My name is Majdi, Today i will talk about my beautiful Magical City "Old sana'a" . every year, Tourists from all over the world visit old sana'a, For Sure old sana'a is the name of the Historical old Areas in sana'a and everybody know that, but, do you know the old interesting history of the city? when it was built? who has built it ?and what is more interesting , what are the old names of it before the name Sana'a, Thats what i'm going to tell you about
First, sana'a had many names in the past such as: Azal, Ghamdan, and other names and each name has a big reason and a great story behind it, but the first and the most known name was "Shem Ben Noah" why ? .. because in the 4th Century B.C Shem ben Noah has built the city so they called it by his name the City named by the Famous name Sana'a in the Middle of the 1st Century A.C mostly and this name means The fortified Cit, and Sana'a is The Highest Capital in the Arab World
Old sana'a was a safe City because of the high locality and the big Clayey fence including the Great Gates, those gates were the only ports to the City, in the past, the Great gates used to open from the early morning before the sunrise until the sunset time, because of the Fear law to protect the people, No one can Enter the City awhile the doors is closed
by the End of 1960, one of the visitor's said when i couldn't enter the City after the sunset, i went to relax in a small hell by the east out side the city Which called "Dhahr Himiar" from them i could enjoy The great View of the City under the moon light, i enjoyed seeing the Three parts of the city as it used to be until 1995, The 1st Area was old Sana'a including the beautiful houses and the narrow lanes, great mosques, Green Gardens, Sperated markets, The 2nd Area was Bab Alsabah and Beer AlAzab, the 3rd Area was bab Alqaa. from that hell i could see the gates, no one knows how many gates was exactly, but the most known gates are " Sho'ob
