Make A Piñata
For children, a birthday party is like an early Christmas. They get to have a day dedicated just for them, filled with presents, cake, and a Piñata. The idea of hitting a decorative paper mache box filled with candy or toys is some children’s idea of fun. Piñatas can come in different sizes, shapes, colors, and character themes. What a piñata really is, a cardboard box with tissue paper glued onto it. With these steps anyone can make a piñata. The first step to making a piñata is to buy the supplies. The main stable that holds together the piñata is of course the box itself. The size of the box can be any size depending how big or little the character theme is. I went with a 12 by 12 box for my piñata. The 12 by 12 has a good height and depth to fill candy or toys inside without it being cramped. The next step would be to choose the tissue paper. The Ghost character I picked is white, therefore I went with a white tissue paper. The tissue paper can be any color, and can …show more content…
The first step is to make the box. Fold the box together to make a square, and then tape the bottom with the clear packing tape. Then, take the scissors and cut a ¾ square flap on the top of the box to insert the candy. Once cut, save the left over square cardboard for the next step. Next, insert two holes on top of the box for the zip tie. Grab the extra cardboard and insert it under the opening in order to connect the zip tie together. Once the zip tie is holding the box up, seal the top with the clear tape. Once the box is sealed, it’s time to decorate. Use the scissors to cut the tissue paper in any decorative way, and use the glue to stick it to the box. Repeat this process, when the decorating part is done, it’s time for the candy. Fill the piñata halfway with candy, so the piñata will be easy to break. Once the candy is filled, the last step is to tie up the piñata, and watch the birthday guest enjoy hitting a homemade
