He had a rare type of blood cancer that is called Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia, when he was just a few months old. The only treatment that he could have was a full bone marrow transplant. He had to go 6 months waiting for someone who could help him and since he went that long without the bone marrow that he needed that only gave him a 40% chance of surviving. When he finally got his transplant at only 14 months old he had to spend 6 months in total isolation. It’s sad because he didn’t get the chance to grow up and play with the kids he was around and he almost lost his life four times. Leighton also goes and gets a steroid treatment that is 130 miles away from his home that he has been on for 3 years. But as he got older he developed an allergic reaction to the sunlight so he has to spend summer in the inside and wear long sleeve shirts, sunglasses and hats. Now he is 4 years old and getting better and better by the day. He happen to be watching tv and seen a disneyland in paris as a commercial and he wished to go there. So Leighton and his family ended up driving to the airport in a private taxi and flew to paris. While he was there he got to go to the Mickey Mouse cafe and he also went to the Buffalo Joe Rodeo and he dressed up as a cowboy and he loved it. His mom said that she remembers him enjoying himself so much because he got to do something normal with his family and she also went on to say that she encourages you to do something with the family and she also said to the other families thinking about applying for make a wish you have to do it because you never know what could happen. But if all goes well then Leighton will get to go to school and do everything like the other kids his age do. These are just two of the wishes that the Make-A-Wish foundation has granted for kids like Paige and
