that you just got from your abusive boyfriend or not. It happened so quickly. One minute you were arguing, the next minute you were down on ground with a bruise on your right cheek. You didn’t know that the person you trusted for a long time and gave everything to could ever do this to you. Now, your tears are falling uncontrollably from your eyes. Eyes that are now empty inside. You stare at the makeup foundation that is almost empty, has been sitting in your makeup kit for a long time thinking that you would not use it anymore after that one party that you and your boyfriend went to. Then, you look at the person who is in front of you. Now, you see your bruised face. You have no idea what to do. Should you hide your bruise with the makeup foundation and make amends with your boyfriend, or break up with him after hurting you? Should you call her boyfriend and try to fix your relationship? After all, you’ve been together for a long time. Maybe he won’t do it again.
Now, imagine yourself as a little boy.
You and your dad are at a local drugstore near your house. You separated from your dad and went to the makeup foundation aisle right away, while your dad is at the protein shakes section. Ever since you were a kid, you already recognized your passion with cosmetics, especially with makeup foundations. You have just always been so amazed with how it works. You find it fascinating how a liquid can all of the sudden change someone’s skin tone. You just don’t know how to tell your dad that you doesn’t like girls, but instead you like boys. Now, as you take a makeup foundation product, your dad calls your name and he was surprised with what he’s seeing right now. Your dad always has this stern look on his face that you find scary. He doesn’t know what to say to you right at this moment. Has your dad found out that you’re not actually into robots and Legos as he thought you’d be, but instead you’re into makeups? Will your dad scold you for trying to take one that’s meant for girls? But, as it turns out, your dad only asks you if you want a makeup foundation. You say yes nervously, and your dad bends down and holds you on your shoulders with his eyes that are now very sincere eyes. Your dad tells you that you don’t have to be into robots and Legos¬, that he wouldn’t mind if you’re into cosmetics because after all, you’re his only son. Your dad takes the makeup foundation from your shaky hands, and tells you to go to the cashier with him to buy
your very first cosmetic product.
