Unit 3: introduction to marketing

Branding is a process which involves creating a unique name or an image for a product or a service in the costumer’s minds. This can be accomplished by varieties of ways. One if the most common way is through advertising campaigns. The most important things to remember when branding a product or a service is to make sure is consistent theme. Branding aims to establish a significant and differentiated presence in the market that attracts and retain loyal customers. Branding is a very important aspect for any type of company, as any type of company main goal is to make profit. By branding it makes it a lot easier because this will make customers aware of your product which means they will pick your product instead of other similar products. Branding almost aims to create family if you like or a community with the customers so they consumers can feel like they can feel like the company is especially selling their product or service to them, as everyone like to feel like everything is aimed at them.
In this assessment one of the organisations that I will be analysing will be Nike. Nike is a sport company which sells sport clothing and sport equipment. Nike was founded in 1964 by Bill Bowerman Phil Knight. Originally Nike was only selling strictly just sport clothing and sport equipment. However now over the years they have changed the Nike Image, now is not just sport related it also sells casual cloths and lots of other accessories. Through Nike branding strategies and advertising campaigns Nike now is currently one of the most recognise logo and organisations. However I will be just focusing on one clothing item. The item I will be analysing in this assessment is football kits that are produced by Nike. Nike football kits are a huge aspect of the Nike organisations as it generates on average 587 million pounds every year.
