Cause
In an effort to protect the young adults that are beginning to enter the American workforce, the Minors Against Labor Abuse (MALA) have organized this organization to have representation at the legislative and governmental levels on the issues related to working conditions. While the AFL-CIO has interest of all workers, MALA is particularly interested in the treatment of employees under the age of 21. It has been reported that many employers take advantage of this age group by underpaying, overworking, and disregarding the well-being of these individuals when providing employment for jobs that are considered minimal but essential for a business to continue running. It is MALA’s mission to work closely with AFL-CIO and other labor interest groups to adopt policies and regulations for the protection of this young workforce which will become the workforce of tomorrow.
