People also look up to her for what she is doing for education in the whole world. As a result of the attack, she became an education activist for all children who are not able to study and receive an education. It is clear to see she is an activist through her books and work. She has written two books each talking about how she stood up for education. Malala’s books talk about the importance on education and shows statistics on how many children and teens have not yet gotten the necessary schooling. She has also shown why she is an activist through her organization, The Malala Fund, where the goal of the association is to guarantee to all girls to have a safe, free, and excellent school education. She has especially impacted those who think she was going to be silenced. However, being the courageous and brave young woman she is, she spoke up for what she knows is right. To quote a phrase from the speech she gave at the United Nations on July 12, 2013, “They thought the bullet would silence us, but they failed.” By they Malala refers to the Taliban and by us she means all the girls and women who raise their voices for their rights. The Taliban thought that by opposing fear, Malala would be quiet, but clearly they failed. Malala has also impacted those who were afraid to stand up for their rights. As a result of Malala’s attack, many have stood up for what is correct.
