After the Japanese surrendered in 1945 and which the Second World War ended. The period between the Japanese move out from Malaya and the return of the British gave the Malayan Communist Party (MCP) the opportunity to take over the government in Malaya for 14 days. During that time, MCP created many troubles and chaos. On September 1945 British army came back, they tried to restore peace and govern Malaya with the named British Military Administration (BMA). Military rule was necessary during the chaos, but BMA faced challenge from MCP, which wanted to govern the Malayan. Due to the administration based on military system cannot last long, the BMA was dissolved and on 10 October 1945 the secretary of British Colonial Office, George Hall has announced that a parliament of the Malay political unity known as Malayan Union (MU) to replace BMA. It was a confederation of the Malay States and Straits Settlements excluding Singapore, which was placed as a crown colony under direct British rule. On 11 October 1945 Harold MacMicheal was sent to Malaya to obtain the signatures of the Sultans of agreeing the establishment of MU. British Parliament issued a “white paper” that containing proposals for Malayan Union.

How do Classical Republicanism and Natural rights philosophers affect the Founders view about government because, both the Classical Republicans and Natural Rights philosophers impacted the Founders view about the government. In the preamble it shows that there are more Classical Republicans signatures and a few Natural rights philosophers’ signatures. The three court cases that I chose were Betts v. Brady, Bowers v. Hardwick, and Loretto v. Teleprompter Manhattan. In the first case Brady v. Betts in 1995, Betts was the offender, who robbed a place in Maryland but could not afford and attorney. The 6th amendment then comes into play because it sets forth rights related to criminal prosecutions. Betts could not defend himself in the case and he was sent to jail. Classical Republicanism is shown here because Betts stated he did not have an attorney to the judge. And the Judge and said that in the 6th amendment it did not include the rights to an attorney. Which also rules in favor of Natural Rights philosophy? The second case I decided to go with was Bowers v. Hardwick 1985, Michael Hardwick was being observed by a Georgia officer while he had been engaged in sexual intercourse with someone of the same sex. Hardwick’s first amendment rights were violated by the police officer by observing Hardwick in his own personal life. In this case it shows a huge chunk of Classical Republicanism because the court had agreed with Hardwick that he had violated his rights. Although the officer had denied the fact that he violated the rights of Hardwick, the court still sided with Hardwick. In my last case Lorreto v. Teleprompter Manhattan 1982, a company had violated a customer’s rights to privacy which means violating the fourth amendment. Classical Republicanism is shown in this case because they say it is a violation of privacy. Natural rights Philosophy is show because they say that the company…

The way the author recalls his father's teachings shows how the author regrets losing the secrets his father give him. The first piece of evidence is the father's statement after teaching his son to dowse. The father tells his son that “[dowsing is] something [his] own father taught [him]” (Carrier 95). The son is comparing himself to his father because the son did not succeed in learning to dowse from his father but the father succeeded in learning from his own. Another piece of evidence is his father's further statement. He said that “dowsing [is not] something you learn in school [and it is not] useless" (Carrier 95). The author quotes his father's statement because he totally agrees with his father. It is after his father pass away he…

Yamtuan Antah’s main contribution to the Malayan history is that he was patriotic and courageous enough to take action against Datuk Kelana and the British to save his state, Negeri Sembilan, from being colonized. Initially, the British followed a policy of non-intervention in relation between the Malay states.[19] The commercial importance of tin mining in the Malay states to merchants in the Straits Settlements led to infighting between the aristocracy on the peninsula. The destabilisation of these states damaged the commerce in the area, causing British intervention. The wealth of Perak’s tin mines made political stability there a priority for British investors, and Perak was thus the first Malay state to agree to the supervision of a British resident.[14] British gunboat diplomacy was employed to bring about a peaceful resolution to civil disturbances caused by Chinese and Malay gangsters employed in a political tussle between Ngah Ibrahim and Raja Muda Abdullah. The Pangkor Treaty of 1874 paved the way for the expansion of British influence in Malaya. The British concluded treaties with some Malay states, installing “residents” who advised the Sultans and soon became the effective rulers of their states.[28] These advisors held power in everything except to do with Malay religion and customs.[14]…
