When Malik first hears he has to move to Japan he “heatedly reminds” his mom of the reasons he cannot leave. Moreover, Malik refuses to leave the house even to enjoy activities he used to do like skating or jogging. The turning point occurs when Malik’s mom forces him to go to a museum with some other kids from the Kaden Air Base, and he actually ends up laughing along with them on his way home. After this outing, Malik develops friendships, travels around Okinawa, and sees other kids deal with transfers and moving. When the next transfer letter arrives, Malik shows how he has changed by

A).Which clue would tell Stefan which scapular surface was anterior and which was posterior? What is the name of the shallow, oval socket of the scapular that Stefan placed next to the humerus? When he pulled out the two bundles, each containing a narrow S-shaped bone. Turning them over in his hands, he quickly decided which was right and which left, then placed each clavicle by its neighboring scapula. In order to determine if a scapula is right or left, orient it so the glenoid fossa (articulating surface) faces laterally (outward) and the spine is posterior (toward back) and superior (upper). The coracoid process should be superior and anterior. Glenoid cavity is what he place next to the humerus.…

You really don’t know who we are?” Jason shrugged helplessly. “It’s worse than that. I don’t know who I am.” The bus dropped them in front of a big red stucco complex like a museum, just sitting in the middle of nowhere. Maybe that’s what it was: the National Museum of Nowhere, Jason thought. A cold wind blew across the desert. Jason hadn’t paid much attention to what he was wearing, but it wasn’t nearly warm enough: jeans and sneakers, a purple T-shirt, and a thin black windbreaker. “So, a crash course for the amnesiac,” Leo said, in a helpful tone that made Jason think this was not going to be helpful. “We go to the ‘Wilderness School’”—Leo made air quotes with his fingers. “Which means we’re ‘bad kids.’ Your family, or the court, or whoever, decided you were too much trouble, so they shipped you off to this lovely prison—sorry, ‘boarding school’—in Armpit, Nevada, where you learn valuable nature skills like running ten miles a day through the cacti and weaving daisies into hats! And for a special treat we go on ‘educational’ field trips with Coach Hedge, who keeps order with a baseball bat. Is it all coming back to you now?” “No.” Jason glanced apprehensively at the other kids: maybe twenty guys, half that many girls. None of them looked like hardened criminals, but he wondered what they’d all done to get sentenced to a school for delinquents, and he wondered why he belonged with them. Leo rolled his eyes. “You’re really gonna play this out,…

The short story, “The Lesson,” by Toni Cade Bambara, portrays one of the most interesting themes in literature, the initiation story. The story illustrates a group of kids who live in the slums in New York city. They are unaware of their environment, and Ms. More is conscious of this situation. In a basis, she teaches the kids life lessons to help them strive for success and attempt to better themselves and their situations. In this occasion, she brings them to a toy story, but not just a common one. Ms. Moore is an educated woman, and she knows that going to an ordinary toy story would not make a footprint in the life of those kids. Ms. She brings them to F.A.O. Schwarz located on Fifth Avenue, the most exclusive and expensive store in the…

Instead of calling it Serenity, he calls it “Happy Valley”. Based on this information, I infer that he hates Serenity and that he is being sarcastic as “Happy Valley” and the hatred for Serenity don’t go along very well. One day, Hector Amani, a boy that really thinks he is best friends with Malik, got a new skateboard. But, Malik thinks he’s kind of a wimp even though he is like any other boy. He wanted to show the skateboard and to display its “awesomeness” to Malik/his best friend. So Malik decided to challenge him to a hard obstacle course through the hardest streets in town - rough road surfaces, speed bumps and sewer…
