Run by the organization Orphan’s Heart, there is a malnutrition center where children can obtain the care they need to thrive without taking away the traditions of their culture. The center provides over two dozen jobs to the local community instead of shipping missionaries to work at the location to stimulate the economy and build trust among the local families. The trust of the local population took years to build and hard work to maintain, without trust mothers can not feel comfortable with leaving their children somewhere for months at a time. Regardless of your age or financial means, there is alway something you can do to help. The most important thing we can do is understand the effects of malnutrition because this will lead to the ability to raise awareness for the issue simply by talking about it with our friends and family. The more aware people are, the more public and private funding projects helping these children will receive. The last thing we need to remember is to be respectful of the culture we are entering into, so we done harm the children rather than helping them. Together we can really impact the lives of so many
