INTRODUCTION TO MANAGEMENT (MANG2401)

Scenario:
You have been asked by your college to go for ─ in accordance with the requirement of the degree you are pursuing ─ a two-month summer training in a Multinational Corporation based in Oman. After the completion of the training you are expected to write a detailed report based on your observations during the training.
Areas of Management to be covered in the report:
1. Key aspects of internal environment of the company
2. Ethical practices in the company
3. How is the business responsibility being executed
4. Principles and policies of Management being followed in the organization
5. The planning process
6. What kind of strategy the company is following to achieve competitive advantage
7. Control process in the organization
8. The organizational chart of the company
9. What Devices (tools) are used to select employees in the company
Submission Date:
The last date for submission of Assignment Report is 19 December, 2013.
Notes:
1. The assignment is to be prepared in a group. Each group will comprise 3-4 students.
2. The report should be written in 2500 to 3000 words (Times New Roman Font, 12 Font Size, and 1.5 line spacing)
3. Each group will make a power point presentation of the collected information for which 15 minutes will be given. Presentations will be made between December 22, 2013 and January 2, 2014 depending upon your class schedule
4. The students who do not contribute to write the report or make the presentation will not be awarded any marks for the assignment
5. The assignment will carry 20% weighting of the total marks for the course
6. Students found cheating or copying the report of others will be penalized
7. All outside material used
