Chapter 1
1. What are the potential ethical issues faced by Acme Corporation?
The problem here lies with Amber too who constantly allows Frank to give gifts to Otis in exchange of bigger business share. This can lead to serious problems because Amber is not treating all business partners the same way and special effort is being made to satisfy Frank and his wife. Acme Corporation is worried about gift-giving and how it might be perceived. Gifts given to one individual can be viewed as an ethical problem and may constitute bribe. In this case, we see that personal gifts were given only to Otis who could lead to bribery accusation against Frank and Acme Corporation.

2. What should Acme do if there is a desire to make ethics a part of its core organizational values?
Amber and Frank get away with extending gifts because there are seriously no rules laid down on special services given to business partners. Acme employees know that the only thing that matters is bigger business chunk and as long as they bring in business, they should be okay with it.

3. Identify the ethical issues of which Frank needs to be aware.
Frank is the more innocent of the two people involved. Otis knows very well that he is asking for favors while Amber is also fully aware of the length and breadth of her actions. It is Frank who is in doubt and is wondering if he is doing the right thing and this is the reason he consults Amber.
4. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each decision that Frank could make.
Advantages are clear from the case. When Frank gives gifts to Otis knowing that Otis is seeking those privileges, he gets better business deals. His standing in the company improves and he gets bigger bonuses.

Throughout history, population growth has triggered many different factors in developing countries. Every country, business, and government has felt the impact of the unforeseen disasters and diminishing resources on our planet. I think one way that we can see these changes is through the “Latesvology Conceptual Model”. This model measures changes in society. The changes are economic, societal values and understanding the variances and pressure points that impact changes. Economic patterns over time are essential for understanding these changes, the two assumptions are “ that more is preferable to less”, and that the “ desire for more can never be satisfied”.…

The thesis in Elbert Hubard’s book, A Message to Garcia is the first sentence of the book. “In all this Cuban business there one man stands out on the horizon of my memory like Mars at perihelion.” (p. 17) Hubard published his article originally on page ten of one of his magazines. He was a publisher from the late 1800s until his death in 1915. He is best known for publishing two magazines, The Philistine and The Fra. Also happening at this time, Spain was fighting rebel forces in Cuba and American interest was not toward Spain. Hubard appealed to the headlines, audience, and politics of the day. There are several ethical issues that Frank needs to by aware off, the first is his own personal integrity. Frank needs to understand that ultimately his reputation is as much at risk as Acme’s. While Frank is acting as an agent for Acme, he is also always acting as an agent for himself. Frank’s participation in Acme’s bribery could come back to him in the form of a reputation in his industry, which could impede his future employability. Frank also needs to be aware that he is setting a precedent in the way he sells. This could be a future problem for Frank in that he will not develop the necessary skills he needs for ethical sales, which will mean that he will most likely have to revert to a “bribery technique” to get the job done, thus stunting his future potential.…

The ethical issues that arise in the case are based on the motives of certain individuals. For example, Jill would like to decrease the R&D department functions and increase the marketing function. She wants to increase the marketing function so that the company is able to maximize short-run sales and profits from existing products. As a nonemployee investor, Jill just wants to see a bigger return on her investment, which shows she is only concerned with how much the company excels financially and not who is benefiting from what the company is…
