Course Description and Aims
This course is an introductory systems analysis and design course, which presents an overview of information systems and the systems development life cycle. The emphasis of this course will be on tools and techniques that analysts and programmers use to design and document information systems. The course will also cover other important skills of the systems analyst such as fact-finding, communications, and project management. The aim will be to provide students with a ‘hands-on’ learning experience of the Systems Development Project. These systems must be informed by the needs of the Organization within which they will function, and must satisfy Organization goals.
Target Audience
This course is designed for Level 3 (final year) undergraduate students of Management Studies. It provides the Management perspective on the development of Information Systems for students wishing to prepare themselves for the Organizational experience of the Systems Development Project.
