1.0 Introduction to RAOUL by F J BENJAMIN
FJ Benjamin, an international fashion retailer company that is based in Singapore. The company has four core businesses fashion retail, timepiece distribution, retail licensing, and investments in lifestyle concepts. It also markets and manages its own in-house brand, Raoul, in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. (Singapore Infopedia,2009, Para 1)
RAOUL launched in Singapore in 2002 as a men’s shirt label, branching out to womenswear , is a homegrown fashion and leather goods brand from the house of F J Benjamin. Since its international debut at the 2010 New York and Paris Fall/Winter shows, RAOUL has been a buzz. Founded by Douglas Benjamin and Odile Benjamin, RAOUL has expanded into the international market with creations sold in standalone stores across the Asia-Pacific and through 150 stockists worldwide. RAOUL initial vision was to create a great brand of men’s shirts and accessories that offered good value and quality for money. (Singapore Tatler, 2013, Para 10)
