Scholarships are found to be more commonly given out for academics rather than sports. Academic scholarships are promoted from the states to be given out. Balancing sports and school is a very hard job that requires a lot of planning and hard work. Between the 6 hours of school and the 2 hours of sports plus homework is a very rough schedule to complete in just a night. The students have to work hard in school and right when they get home to complete the work that is due the next day. Also to make sure that the students get over the required GPA they have to do well on their tests, homework, and projects to achieve a good grade in each class. It takes a lot of time and dedication to do well in school and on the field. While this is a valid point, we have to think about the kids that have learning disabilities. It prevents them from getting over the mandatory GPA. Did you ever think that the one thing in their life that just “clicks” with them is a sport. It would be terrible if the one thing they loved to do was prevented because the just couldn’t get the required GPA to play. There are many options to help them out to help obtain that GPA the dream about to play that sport. Many schools offer programs so this doesn’t happen to the students who have a learning
