Millennials launched almost 160,000 startups each month, and 29% of all entrepreneurs were 20 to 34 years old.” (3) These Millennials are important to the economy of the United States especially since they create jobs. “20 percent of entrepreneurs aged 18-34 currently employ six or more people. 58 percent of 18-24 year olds and 46 percent of 25-34 year olds project hiring six or more employees in five years.” (4) If these Millennial Entrepreneurs were forced to join the military, than there could have been a reduction to jobs is the United States. Not only do these young Millennial like to work for themselves, but they also like to study. “Educators are celebrating the high school graduation rate, which now stands at 72%. This is the highest level of high school completion in more than two decades. Of those graduates, 68% enrolled in college. Approximately 58% of those entering a four-year institution will receive a bachelor’s degree within six years.” (3) Meaning that if they were forced to join the military, and would have to serve an average 4 year term, than they would have to wait an addition 4 years to complete their bachelor’s degree. Instead of being done with their degree within 6 years they would be done within 10 years. This would force a late start to the creation of their own family. Best case scenario would be someone graduating from high school at the age of 18, serve their 4 year term, return at the age of 22 and continue to work on their
