Manifest Destiny Expansion

Expanding the boundaries of the United States began almost immediately after the country declared its independence from Britain in 1776. Growing from the original thirteen colonies along the eastern seaboard to eventually encompass a major part of North America from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, manifest destiny played a significant role.
