28 November 2012 Manifest destiny was originated in the 1840’s. It was the belief that Saxon Americas expanded their civilization and institutions across the North America. This expansion was territorial but the progress of liberty and individual economic opportunity. Americans began to buy into settling unexplored western frontiers, they first moved into Michigan, Arkansas, Wisconsin and Ohio (Norton 2007). The nation expanded quickly in just five years. Texas negotiated with Britain for half of Oregon country and wanted more as the war with Mexico went on. The Native Americans that were in Indiana, Illinois and Michigan were very active in the trade market. Many of them who went in the West became Native American Pioneers, they went west because there cultures were so transformed and it had an impact on the West and South against the Mexican frontier and the problems started in Mexico shortly after that. The Mexican War was one of the American Expansions that took place. By the end of the war it expanded from coast to coast and also into Asia where they took the Philippians in the Spanish- American war. They became very powerful in Asia and in the Caribbean but they didn’t claim it or occupy the islands except the Puerto Rico and Philippian islands. Although they didn’t occupy Central America they still exercised the political and economic control in that region. Instead of opposing the Anti-Native Americans policies the white Americans supported them. They were led to believe that the United States was destined to take over the continent of North America. The case still remains significant in history because it graphically illustrated the dreadful truth that enslaved women had absolutely no remorse when these slave women were being raped by there masters. “Works Cited”
