Abstract
The manufacturing industry plays a central part in many different sectors of the global industry. Manufacturing use a variety of tools and machinery, and involves a range of manual tasks carried out by people as well as high-tech activities performed by machines to produce goods. Due to several changes that have affected the manufacturing sector in the last decades many manufacturing companies has adopted new manufacturing strategies in order to face the new challenges in the market.
This paper shows an analytical comparison of the manufacturing strategies between four of the key players in the UK manufacturing industry which are JCB (heavy equipment industry), Jaguar Land Rover (Luxury SUV cars industry), Walkers (Snack industry) and Rolls Royce (Aerospace industry). This paper highlights the strategies of each company in the different sections of the organization such as product features, supply, layouts, equipment, workforce, quality system, sustainability practices and key performance indicators and summarize the main trends affecting the operations of each organization.

Introduction
The global manufacturing industry produces goods using labour, tools and machinery, and involves a spectrum of manual tasks carried out by people as well as other high-tech activities performed by machines and computers.
The manufacturing sector has faced several challenges in recent decades due to different factors such as technological developments, new social requirements, political regulations and fluctuation in the market demands. In order to understand the different strategies that manufacturing companies have adopted to be successful in the current market, it had been evaluated and compared four companies that are part of the UK manufacturing industry.
