Wisdom, knowledge, truth and calmness- the ten attributes of Dharma
If you will adhere and respect these principles of Dharma, they will protect you
If you choose to show disrespect to these and not follow them, you will become the cause of your own destruction
(An extract from the Holy Scripture ‘MANUSMRITI’)
Centuries before the revelation of the Ten Commandments to Moses by God as described in the Old Testament, the Vedic Seer Adi-Manu, the first Man created by Brahma to civilize the world, had described the ten ‘attributes of Dharma’ namely- patience, forgiveness, self-control, non-stealing, cleanliness and purity, restraint over the senses, wisdom, knowledge, truth and calmness. Manu was endued to treat wisdom and devoted to virtue. He became the progenitor of a line and in Manu's race has been born all human beings, who have, therefore, been called ‘Manavas’ (Mankind through the Sanskrit root).
If the ten attributes of Dharma are adhered to properly the result is ahimsa, love and peace in the world since these are not only the ten attributes of dharma but also of humanism and are the cornerstones for bringing about peace in the world. If adhered to these Ten Commandments or
